Hospitality & Tourism is a vast, dynamic industry that encompasses the management, marketing and operations of restaurants and food services, lodging, attractions, recreation, events, and travel-related services. In the U.S., Hospitality and Tourism represents a $6.8 trillion-dollar industry and is projected to create 350 million new jobs by 2024. There is tremendous opportunity for ambitious students who enjoy working with people. For those who want to enter the workforce right away or those who wish to pursue a related college major, this industry provides a variety of exciting career paths, many of which provide opportunities for travel! Students have the opportunity to pursue certifications and earn free college credit as students at TCTA.
In Culinary Arts, students will learn and develop technical skills required to be able to prepare a variety of basic foods following proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop skills through hands-on laboratory activities that allow the students to make a variety of favorite foods from scratch such as pizza and pasta. Advanced students will further the development of skills through execution of more complex food preparation techniques with a focus on enhanced food presentation. Students have the opportunity to pursue certifications and earn free college credit as students at TCTA.
