Tenth-grader Jada Childs was chosen as the Inspiring Excellence Award recipient for the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy (TCTA). Childs attends Central High School.

The award, sponsored by Townsquare Media and CAPS Tuscaloosa, recognizes one student per year from each TCS school for their outstanding character.

TCTA faculty said Childs demonstrates great leadership and character, and she goes above and beyond to help others.

Child is taking a veterinary science and agriculture class at TCTA, which she said has prepared her well for her goal to be a veterinarian. She said this class has taught her to handle the responsibility of taking care of animals and being in a workplace.

Congratulations, Jada!
